Lamongan — The Sharia Economics Study Program of Universitas Muhammadiyah Lamongan (UMLA) collaborated with the Regional Leadership of Nasyiatul Aisyiyah (PDNA) Lamongan in organizing a Halalbihalal gathering and Muslimah Lifestyle Seminar with the theme “Halal Lifestyle: From Consumption to Daily Finance.”

The event was held on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at the Muhammadiyah Da’wah Building in Lamongan. It served as an educational forum for Nasyiatul Aisyiyah cadres and Muslim women in Lamongan to understand the importance of applying halal principles in daily life, not only in consumption but also in financial management.

The seminar featured Farokhah Muzayinatun Niswah, S.EI., M.Si., a lecturer at the Faculty of Economics and Business of UMLA, as the speaker. In her presentation, Farokhah emphasized that a halal lifestyle is an essential part of Muslim women’s awareness in carrying out economic activities responsibly.

According to her, halal principles do not stop at choosing food and beverages. They also include how wealth is earned, used, and managed. Therefore, sharia economic literacy must continue to be strengthened so that society can distinguish financial practices that are in line with Islamic values.

“A halal lifestyle must be understood comprehensively, starting from what we consume, how we earn income, to how Muslim women manage family finances and economic activities,” said Farokhah.

Through this activity, the Sharia Economics Program of UMLA took part in strengthening sharia financial literacy in the community. The collaboration with PDNA Lamongan reflects the contribution of Muhammadiyah higher education in providing practical education that is relevant to the needs of today’s Muslim women.

Chairperson of PDNA Lamongan, Arika Karim, S.HI., S.Pd.I., stated in her remarks that the Halalbihalal gathering served as a momentum to strengthen ties of friendship while broadening cadres’ understanding of the importance of awareness regarding halal and haram in life. She emphasized that halal awareness should become part of the character of progressive Muslim women.

The event was also attended by the Deputy Regent of Lamongan, Dirham Akbar Aksara, S.T., B.Eng., M.Sc.; representatives of PDM and PDA Lamongan; UMLA leaders; lecturers of the Faculty of Economics and Business UMLA; and PCNA administrators throughout Lamongan.

In his remarks, the Deputy Regent of Lamongan encouraged Muslim women to continue becoming empowered, independent, and actively contributing to community development.

This seminar is expected to become an initial step in strengthening collaboration between the Sharia Economics Program of UMLA and PDNA Lamongan in developing sharia economic education, especially for young women. Through an understanding of the halal lifestyle, Muslim women are expected to become wiser in consumption, smarter in managing finances, and capable of becoming agents of change in their families and communities.
